What was the client's brief?
We were briefed to create a detached garage and studio space for a couple looking to expand a business venture. They required a space to work from home but not at home, giving them the ability to have a healthy work life balance and creating some separation between the two.
What did we do?
An important aspect of the brief was head height within the studio, the clients required standing height across the majority of the build and also space for a vehicle to be raised within the garage. We designed a flexible studio space built slightly into the natural sloping site, allowing us to maximise the space within and keeping the roof height low in comparison to the surrounding buildings. The build will be constructed using SIP's Panels with an outer skin of blue lias stone local to character of the area and timber to the second half of the facade.
